Security & Data

Your naming work stays yours.

We do not add your briefs, uploads, confidential project information or customer-created names to AKA’s proprietary Namebank, and we do not use them to train our AI models.

Security & Data

Last updated: SEPTEMBER 2026

AKA Naming is designed to support serious naming work, including confidential briefs, project information and generated naming content.

We take a practical approach to security and data handling: keep access limited, use trusted infrastructure, and be clear about how we use project information.

Your project data

Project data may include:

  • naming briefs;
  • uploaded documents;
  • project information;
  • generated names and content;
  • shortlists; and
  • comments and team feedback.

Your project content remains associated with your account.

Customer-created and customer-uploaded content is not added to AKA’s proprietary Namebank.

AI and data use

AKA uses AI as part of the naming process, including Anthropic’s Claude and AWS Bedrock. We do not use your uploaded documents, naming briefs, confidential or proprietary information, or other sensitive project materials to train our AI models.

We also do not add customer-created or customer-uploaded content to AKA’s proprietary Namebank.

We may use generalised or aggregated information about how users respond to naming suggestions, such as broad patterns in names users prefer or reject, to improve platform performance. This information cannot be linked back to a specific customer or project.

Our third-party AI services are configured so that customer inputs and outputs are not used by those providers to train their underlying models.

Access to your project

AKA personnel do not routinely access customer project content.

We may access project information only where:

  • you ask us for support and we need to investigate an issue;
  • you ask AKA to provide consulting or naming advice; or
  • access is reasonably necessary for security, legal or operational reasons.

We do not review customer projects as part of ordinary platform use.

Storage, retention and deletion

The AKA Naming platform uses Amazon Web Services infrastructure, and information may be stored or processed in Australia or the United States.

You can delete:

  • individual projects;
  • uploaded documents; and
  • your account.

When information is deleted, it is removed from active storage.

Deleted project information may remain in our systems for up to 60 days while deletion processes are completed.

Backups may retain deleted information for up to 90 days.
We may retain limited account, billing and administrative records for up to one year after account closure, or longer where required for legal, accounting, tax or dispute-resolution purposes.

Platform security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect customer and project information from unauthorised access, loss, misuse or disclosure.

Our security approach includes controls around infrastructure, account access, data protection and operational monitoring.

We only publish specific technical controls or certifications once they have been verified by our technology team.

Enterprise and team requirements

Larger organisations may require additional security, privacy or procurement information.

For enterprise customers, AKA can provide further information about:

  • data handling;
  • infrastructure;
  • subprocessors;
  • security controls; and
  • contractual requirements.
